President Prabowo Subianto, Wednesday (05/07), received a visit from global philanthropist and Gates Foundation founder Bill Gates at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
Upon his arrival at around 08.15 a.m. Western Indonesian time, Gates was welcomed by President Prabowo. Afterward, they walked together to the main entrance of the palace.
At the palace corridor, the President introduced Gates to ministers of the Red-and-White Cabinet who also joined the welcoming procession, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
After the welcoming procession, the President and Gates had a group photo session at the credential room, followed by an informal meeting during which they discussed various strategic issues, including potential cooperation in several sectors. The meeting signified a strengthened relationship between Indonesia and the global philanthropy community in promoting sustainable development across multiple areas.
